Fellow Patriots fans and draft nerds like me, I introduce you to my top 50 big board of prospects I view the New England Patriots should be watching, considering, and hopefully calling some of their names during the 2026 NFL Draft.
In setting this up I had to give myself ground rules, I needed to observe how the Patriots performed this season, I needed to observe the college football landscape. I needed to find areas where we can improve, and the prospects that can help us do so. I also needed to take into account what our head coach Mike Vrabel looks for in players. Tough, intelligent, dedicated, hardworking, never quit attitudes, and guys who display leadership on and off the field. Players that fit define being a Patriot (Vrabel Guys) are a heavy Priority.... that also being said they need to appear to be a scheme fit or be versatile enough to fit into what the Patriots are running on Offense and Defense. As we should always consider filling needs, a player's overall talent ultimately should be taken into account.
Positions we don't need to be addressed such as QB & Left Tackle (Being we took one in Will Campbell in the first last year, and had a solid rookie regular season, he is and will remain our left tackle) those positions will not be featured in this. Whereas positions we need to look for upgrades to or would be great additions to certain position groups are my targets.
I will warn you the following:
THERE WILL BE PLAYERS WE ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO DRAFT.
I still must rank them, as if we could look to trade up, or if some major controversy happens causing them to fall, their talent alone we can't pass up. When making a big board like this everyone (based on need) is taken into account. After reviewing consensus Big Boards from sites such as NFL DRAFT BUZZ, to PFF, to NFL Mock Draft database. I've comfortably researched over 150 players, watched their progression this season and reviewed this year and their 2024 seasons to confirm my feelings towards them. I've comfortably assembled 50 Players that we should be scouting, analyzing, and hopefully considering if said player is in front of us. So lets dive in!
50 LT OVERTON EDGE ALABAMA
6'5 278lbs
Versatility is written all over LT Overton. Speed, Finesse, Power. This was the expected breakout year for LT, unfortunately for the sake of this big board and eyes of many with big expectations for him, he didn’t meet expectations which lead to this is loaded edge class overshadowing him. LT is a disruptor with the size to match and intimidate opposing offenses, he can mix and match his techniques to cause problems for tackles. His power can put smaller tackles on skates while his speed finesse, and swim moves can shake him free to bring the pressure and hopefully get home with a sack. I do worry in terms of the Patriots if they'd view him in a similar vain to Keion White who was recently traded. On the other hand, if the coaching staff (Like me) views his talents as more polished and an upgrade to White who was still developing and viewed as raw entering the draft. The thought of LT working the edge besides Barmore and Williams is a scary D line for offenses across the league. (https://youtu.be/pvPrCbiZ6r8?si=Z0IOWAx572WEhDNq)
49 BRIAN PARKER II G/RT DUKE
6'5 300 (Arm length per Shrine Bowl 32 2/8s)
Brian Parker II is a solid athletic collegiate tackle, though I'm impressed with his technique and abilities, his intense play style, he does profile best on the inside. It's believed he will have arms roughly around 31 inches. A majority if not all in the scouting world are projecting him to kick inside, and I will side with them on this occasion. I love what I've seen from him, I love his intangibles and leadership for the Duke Blue Devils. He's a high football IQ player, and has good hand technique a great anchor, and good recovery after initial attack from an edge, he's a nasty finisher fighting till the whistle and willing to take anyone to the ground. For his personality I see him as a Vrabel guy, he's a film junkie a great communicator throughout the line calling out a blitz before it happens, a first one in last one out of facility kind of guy our coaches would love. For where I'd like to have him would be left guard with intention of moving Wilson to center, and he can be in between our young core on the left side. In an emergency he could fill in at right tackle, but he's believed to be comfortable at anywhere needed on the Oline having a ton of experience at numerous positions in high school before finally settling in at Right tackle for Duke. There's also been concerns with Onwenu's consistency at right guard since signing his contract last season, that could lead to a replacement opportunity if big Mike's struggles continue. I don't believe he'd warrant any first round consideration due to length concerns, but as a day 2 guy absolutely yes, I feel he's a plug and play interior guy, with tackle flexibility. ( https://youtu.be/5lASY-WQj_Q?si=Y-eFsimjz2D0JndGshout out my guy Pats Stats!)
48 BRYCE BOETTCHER LB OREGON
6’2 235lbs
The enforcer of Oregons defense, an excellent run defender, solid in coverage and shows potential in his pass rush. He has excellent tackling ability, great on field instincts and awareness, relentless motor, and shows phenomenal leadership skills. He’s not the biggest guy, he’s not the fastest guy, he’s a damn good football player, he plays with heart and intensity, his leadership is constantly on display keeping the team locked in, focused and ready to keep up the intensity hyping his teammates up. He’s a film room junkie, wants him and his teammates to be the most prepared before every matchup. A lot of Vrabel like traits in Bryce, not sure of his overall ceiling but he feels as if he’s someone that in the right system will become a key contributor for his team, but in terms of use someone that can fit in just right with our defense. (https://youtu.be/lTorxgn8y1w?si=ZaPAbD-A4KCsQ3cU)
47 JAKE GOLDAY LB CINCINNATI
6'4 240lbs
Jake is a do it all player! Jake has great pass rush ability, good nose for the ball against the run and has big potential in coverage. This season his play alongside the edge was what really helped put him on the map, he is a great pass rusher, but may be a little on the thinner side to be a consistent edge rusher. L He's got the leadership, IQ and intangibles Vrabel looks for in players. When you factor in his get to work personality, his confidence in himself, his athleticism, his play style and production at Cincinnati it's going to warrant Day 2 consideration to teams. I think he's a good fit for the versatility he showed on a weekly basis, and someone you can pair with Spillane in the second level to stop the run, contain QBs, or be disruptive in the pass game. (https://youtu.be/3OP-_22FFdU?si=xakUiIdtCHYLOu1i)
46 ZION YOUNG EDGE MISSOURI
6’5 262lbs
There is a lot to like in Zion Young he is an athletic freak on the edge. His size, power and quickness are things you just can’t teach. The stuff he’s good at he does really well but still feels raw and needs some tuning at the pros. He has very active hands against lineman, great strikes, good use of a mix of bullrush, rips, swim techniques, excellent bend, and occasional spins to separate himself from lineman. He has really good instincts and play recognition. So what’s wrong? As impressive as he is when he’s doing the right stuff, his timing just feels off, or he misses the mark, I think at times when facing tougher competition he would often get beat and at times feel like he was phoning it in on some reps. I think he’s a very good prospect with a ton of upside, he has freaky measurements you just can’t teach and most teams would kill for, I think he’s just needs more development and good coaching to help him put it all together. Does he fit the Patriots defense and the caliber player Vrabel looks for? It’s tough to say with some of the similar things mentioned about Overton, I think similarly to Keion White was that style player not a fit or was it just the personality fit. Zion has good leadership traits, and he’s very team oriented. So if Vrabel likes the person and likes what he sees out of Zion he absolutely could be a fit and someone he feels comfortable we develop to get to the next level, there’s definitely a chance. Just my uncertainty with what I saw on film and the amount of edges in the class, has me lower on him. (https://youtu.be/ClNJAGGC8LA?si=Mksss2cs5kROursI)
45 MICHAEL TRIGG TE BAYLOR
6'4 240lbs
Michael Trigg last year showed the nation he's got the potential to be a Sunday guy impressing scouts all over as someone to continue to watch. Trigg Kicked the door down to start this season by showing he's not only going to be playing on Sundays, if you want him, you're going to have to hurry up and select him on draft day. He's making the case he's the second-best tight end in this class. Good Size, Good play speed, a true playmaker on the field. Explosive route running, makes circus catches, great awareness of zone coverage and can find all the weak spots, and can break you down in man to man coverage with his ankle breaking twitchy maneuvers he displays weekly. Going to be an easy redzone target with his ability to separate, and with his catch radius it could lead to be a very favorable target for Drake Maye. Trigg may not only replace the soon to be expiring contract of Austin Hooper, down the road he can ultimately be Hunter Henry's successor. (https://youtu.be/Fpr4WmLbMgc?si=SPdyfUNSrbouxuI1)
44 JOSHUA JOSEPHS EDGE TENNESSEE
6'3 240lbs
What a force Joshua Josephs is for Tennessee's Defense. He causes problems for everyone in his path rather on the ground, in the pocket, or in the air causing tipped passes from QB's trying to get the ball out quickly. After James Pearce Jr was drafted by the falcons, insert Joshua Josephs to fill the shoes and be a big contributor for the Vols. I love his patience, his pursuit for the ball carrier, and his awareness to constantly be a disruptor on every play. I feel as though I’d like to have seen him return, but he also showed enough on tape that he can go, and be a develop as he goes kind of player after being thrusted into the starting lineup this year. He's someone that could be a huge addition to our D line and with the talent that'd be surrounding him here, it could make for an easier transition for him entering the pros to bring what he's shown he does well for Tennessee to the Patriots. 43 CHRIS JOHNSON CB SAN DIEGO STATE
6' 185lbs
What's better than having Christian Gonzales? How about a guy that plays almost identical to him. Chris Johnson is a name rising up boards, locking everyone down, and on top of that is a pick machine. He seems versatile in what's asked of him rather being in Man, zone, or press coverage. He stays locked in on receivers and knows when to play off to creep in to jump the route and get an interception. He had a 97-yard pick six to help SD State secure a win against Cal. He plays with IQ, instinct, and a leadership mentality, he's tough and not afraid to tackle, he's got incredible technique in both coverage and tackling for the collegiate level he plays in. I'd like to see him against more of the elite receivers in college to fully crown him as the best corner but watching him you see the potential of what he can be. The guy is a dawg... I don't know where he should be considered for the draft, but his talent and all-around play ability, he's someone we must keep in mind and continue to see his progression this year. (https://youtu.be/T4DoM6QjV5g?si=cm6F6I3Q7RKPgSNn)
42 DEONTAE LAWSON LB ALABAMA
6'2 228lbs
Lawson is a name I’ve seen for a while and is another Alabama LB ready to hit the league, though he’s not the big body big disrupter we’ve seen handle that position over the years, he’s his own style of player. A lot of versatility in his game, he can cover (specializing in zone coverage), he can set the edge and has sneaky good pass rush ability with his hand usage against lineman, he’s a hard hitting tackler, and has a great processing skills on the field and sees the play happen in real time and can make big plays when it’s needed. Here’s my drawback his injury history and lack of information on those injuries, teams will have to look further into him with team doctors, to uncover if anything will linger or stay with him entering the league. If Lawson checks out he can be a major play maker with versatility and awareness to give offenses trouble. (https://youtu.be/GgRQJ8dJPu4?si=QGsTBaCUVFCHYpx6)
41 COLTON HOOD CB TENNESSEE
5’11 188lbs
Taking the place of the injured for the year Jermod McCoy as the Vols number one corner, Colton Hood stepped up to the plate and delivered. He displayed excellent coverage ability in man and zone but press is where he shines causing trouble from the start of the snap and getting receivers off rhythm. Colton has prepared route recognition studying who he lines up against, helps with throwing off the timing in the route of the receiver, and mirroring the receiver. His footwork is outstanding and has a very quick back peddle. Not afraid to get physical but can be a little too physical and can be too handsy when he’s getting beat, he’s not afraid to tackle it’s just not consistent or strong enough to take down bigger body receivers. I view Colton as a CB2, does just enough well for his limited experience starting, and with good coaching and development could eventually be a CB1. In terms of the Patriots, I’m not totally convinced we’re willing to part with Carlton Davis anytime soon, yet Davis is getting older and corner depth would not be a bad idea I just currently wouldn’t expect us to use the draft capital early on a corner unless the team views it as a very pressed need. Very good player and made the most out of his opportunity this year. (https://youtu.be/IJelHBWtl30?si=8NOzYSY_xTF8H5yv)
40 TANNER KOZIOL TE HOUSTON
6'7 250lbs
My favorite tight end in the class. Tanner Koziol and his time at Ball State was really impressive, he bet on himself and is making an impact for the Houston Cougars. Tanner's size and athleticism is unique for this tight end class. Though his size is impressive it's what he does with the football that truly stands out. He's excellent in contested catches. a big target with a great catch radius for Drake to sling it to in the redzone or hit him in the open field and watch him go. Not afraid of contact, embraces it. He is on the thinner side compared to what we currently have at Tight end, adding some muscle mass and show more ability in the blocking game I believe he can be a matchup nightmare for defenders, and a reliable target for Drake, and a major playmaker in McDaniels offense. With the team looking to get younger at the position, him opposite Henry or even with Hooper (if he were return) could help him refine his game even further and help make him the next great Patriot TE, with his freakish size and athleticism it’s familiar territory for Patriots fans to be excited about in a Tight end like Koziol (https://youtu.be/29ntZzMVsYU?si=ck6QbQ2ukZNfnutt)
39 JACOB RODRIGUEZ LB TEXAS TECH
6’1 230lbs
The former Quarterback turned linebacker, broke out in an incredible fashion this season. So much so he was a Heisman candidate, and viewed as a heart and soul of the challenging and freighting Texas Tech defense. Rodriguez has limited experience at the position, but what he’s done with his time
playing LB is absolutely impressive, he can do everything out there, coverage, run stopping, pass rushing, ball tracking his past playing QB gives him a leg up on opposing offenses helping him read a qbs eyes, and figure out their tendencies in every game. He’s someone a QB needs to be mindful of when attacking the middle of the field. My dislikes are few but I think need to be shared, what he’s done in his 2 years at LB I will not take away from him it’s damn impressive, what I do know is he played with an absolutely stacked defense with 3 phenomenal pass rushers that helped him take advantage of QBs desperate to get rid of the ball and him to make plays in the middle of the field. I think a team is going to absolutely love him and for good reason, but I think he’s going to be over-drafted, and I think there’s better linebackers out there who did more with less. If we were to take him he’s definitely a personality/locker room fit but I tend to think we’d value a guy with more positional experience where he’s expected to be drafted. ( https://youtu.be/yMzUm9cE0aI?si=qrb8tRNV7EBJHRkN)
38 AVEION TERRELL CB CLEMSON
5'11 180lbs
The brother of A.J. Terrell, he flashes similarities to his All Pro sibling. Aveion is primarily a man/press corner staying lock step with his opponent on their routes. He has great fluidity and can change of direction with ease, ball tracking ability to separate off the receiver to get the pick or deflect the pass away from the receiver. He’s able to force a fumble by dislodging the ball from them in peanut punches or just ripping it away. Excellent play recognition. He may be viewed as undersized, but he plays like a boundary corner as some teams may view him as a slot. He can look to improve his tackling, and he can be too aggressive at times generating penalties and can overuse his athleticism instead of focusing on technique. I like what I’m seeing from him to be a long-term opposition to Gonzales with them both playing best in man coverage. If he’s anything like his brother when he gets to the pros, he can absolutely be a force and a key contributor to our secondary. (https://youtu.be/lnBbfwrZ0xU?si=MJRp3pVn6p88MyCb)
37 ELI STOWERS TE VANDERBILT
6’4 235lbs
Eli Stowers has been a name I’ve seen pop up year after year after year waiting for him to declare. The time has finally come and what a time to having one of his best seasons for Vanderbilt after his time in Texas A&M and being a go to target for Diego Pavia. A former QB turned tight end, there’s a lot to love in his game, speed, hands, ability to separate, can line up anywhere close to the line or even outside, and he’s explosive after the catch. He’s still very raw in his blocking ability even with as much experience as he has, feels like the strength isn’t always there in run blocks, if he can build some more muscle mass and with more coaching still being somewhat new to the position maybe this can improve in time. You’re not really drafting him to be a blocker, you’re drafting him to become a reliable target for Drake Maye, someone who’s played quarterback and can help and assist Maye in their timing and preparation for his routes talking as 2 guys who’ve played the position. I think Eli is someone Drake can find anywhere on the field, rather in contested catches, wide open deep, or even short and let him make plays after the catch he’s fast and explosive enough to make good use out of what he does once the balls in his hands. I think the football iq, reliable target and pure athleticism would benefit our offense. We need to start looking towards the future at tight end and Eli is a name we should absolutely consider. 36 JA'KOBI LANE WR USC
6'4 200lbs
Looking for an X receiver that can help you when you need a big play? someone to make the catch that moves the sticks and some? someone to be an easy target in the redzone? Well, Lane could be your guy. It feels rare at this point if you watch USC highlights and not see Lane come up with a big play. Great hands with the ability to make some circus catches, good catch radius, and has ability to make something happen after the catch. He's very aware of where he is on the field hauling in sideline catches or having to extend his arm to cross the plane to score. My concerns currently are his thinner frame for his size can be an issue fighting press coverage or fighting elite corners for contested catches, and I feel watching him his route tree is limited, when watching him it seems a lot of his big plays come from similar routes just not much versatility on tape there. Which isn't to say there's not more there, it may just be what's asked of him in the Trojans offense. Overall, he's a playmaker, and he's exciting to watch. Hopefully his game can translate to the NFL and if we we're to take him I believe he can make a ton of the catches Drake likes to throw when progressing up the field or near the redzone. 35 AKHEEM MESIDOR EDGE MIAMI,
6’3 280lbs
One of the older edge prospects in the draft going to be 25 entering his rookie year. No that may not be what most like to hear when considering someone with their first or second round choice, here’s what I’ll say to ease you… if you can guarantee me we get 8 solid years out of Akheem… I would tell you he’s absolutely worth it. Someone with as much playing experience as he has and finishing his college career with his best season with Miami in the national championship, there’s a good shot he wants to carry that momentum straight to the league. Here’s what I love, you can line him up anywhere on the line, he’s got a great football IQ, and treated his time at Miami like he was a vet leading his teammates, giving additional coaching and assisting them in the week to week preparations. He has a hot motor always keeping his foot on the gas never really get a sense he takes plays off. In terms of technique excellent and wide variety of hand usage, good leverage against tackles, good bend and flexibility in his pass rush, outside of generating sacks and pressures he’s had a ton of pass deflections as well something we didn’t happen to have this season. He does have an injury history, he is an older prospect, so that being said it’s something to monitor wear and tear, but if medicals check out, you’re getting someone with a ton of college experience, and versatility. A lot of traits I can see Vrabel liking out of him, and a comfortability taking someone who’s played as much football as he has in different conferences, and shows leadership amongst his teammates, he maybe someone we can plug and play based on his experience alone. (https://youtu.be/12L26sGwzBc?si=DUDxaSMC0al-dYcf)
34 GENNINGS DUNKER RT IOWA
6'5 310lbs (34 inch arms per Senior Bowl)
The yearly “is he a tackle or a guard?” debate is back again, and this time it’s Gennings Dunker in the middle of it. I get why some say guard might be his best fit, I see the concerns, but right now, I still view him as a right tackle if he can sit and learn behind a vet. I say this after fighting people for over a year about Will Campbell (and being right about him). I’ve studied a lot of tackles over the years, what makes them bad, okay, good, or elite and while I won’t defend Dunker as hard as I did Campbell, I’ll lean optimistic here, he’s a good-ish tackle when he’s not just okay. Dunker plays with attitude, toughness, and intelligence. He’s got that nasty streak. He’s a phenomenal run blocker, maybe the best part of his game. Great puller, opens lanes, moves well to the second level, and just buries people. He’s believed to have 33-inch arms (sound familiar?)(update upon writing 34 inches measured at Senior Bowl) but I think that short-arm talk is overblown it’s about technique, reach isn’t always everything if you don’t know what you’re doing with your technique. Now the pass pro…. That’s where the issues pop up. Against elite competition, it’s not his arms, it’s his lower half. His footwork isn’t clean, his anchor slips, and he doesn’t always bend well to stay balanced. His hands can ride high, giving power rushers leverage or leading to holds on swim moves. He’s not a turnstile out there, but he does fall forward too often because of his feet. Not the worst I’ve seen, but it shows up against teams like Ohio State. Against more evenly matched opponents like Iowa State, for example those problems vanish. He looks clean, he’s got good bend, anchor, solid hands, and minimal losses. He’s a tough eval in pass pro if you hold level of competition to a higher standard. Has flashes of both good and bad but you can tell he knows what to do. It’s just not consistent yet. I wouldn’t draft him expecting him to start day one. But if Morgan Moses ends up sticking around another year and having a coach like Doug Marrone working with him, that’s the perfect setup. Give him time, coach him up, clean up the pass pro and he could become a solid starting RT or even an elite one who dominates in the run and holds up in pass pro. Worst case, he slides inside to guard if it doesn’t click which may also help us if Mike Onwenu's inconsistencies as of late continue to arise. There’s real upside here. I see the potential. With the right mentorship and coaching, Dunker’s worth taking a shot on as a developmental right tackle, (https://youtu.be/ybbOpVTDEyg?si=VSLD79vO0PjkHL3B)
33 MAX IHEANACHOR RT ARIZONA ST
6’6 330lbs (Arm length per Senior Bowl 34 1/2)
(pronounced I-he-en-a-kor for clarification.) After only playing football since his freshman year.. of college! The soccer and basketball player turned Right Tackle and was recruited to go to Arizona State where in his time there showed consistent improvement, development, and even showed phenomenal NFL level skills for someone with basically no experience at the position that warranted him a chance to shine at the senior bowl. Before I dive any further… his measurements are up to par with Draft guru standards with 34 1/2 inch arms, so let me put you at ease there for anyone concerned by this (that shouldn’t be). He came to Arizona state a ball of clay and molded into a player with great technique for his experience level, handled his own against some outstanding competition even from the likes of David Bailey at Texas tech. He’s coachable and it shows in his developed anchor that keeps him upright and helps plant himself firm in the dirt to fight back utilizing his freaky strength, and displays his multi sport athleticism in the run game going for lead blocks, really promising hand technique and footwork for his experience level. Arizona State molded this man into a player the patriots should absolutely consider as Moses long term replacement, he wouldn’t need to start right away, he can develop even more throughout the season and if there comes a time we lose Moses for any significant time he can display what further development our great coaching staff will get out of him when his numbers called to hit the field. Long term idea Is let’s not rush him out there this year, we know how challenging at times it can be for a rookie lineman, but we have a foundation and great starting point in Max’s current development to mold him to becoming one of the most promising Right tackles in the league. (https://youtu.be/j6RYD5F_pos?si=UC31DE_o0wyo0I2G vs Texas Tech how well he handled one of the best defenses in college)
32 CHRIS BELL WR LOUISVILLE
6'2 220lbs (currently dealing with an ACL)
with this grand idea patriots have of trading for AJ Brown of the eagles... how about a different approach.... Why not draft the next AJ Brown in Chris Bell. Week after week Chris continues to ball out consistently putting up over 100-yard multiple td performances. His stock continues to rise and continues to impress everyone. His size and speed combination is outstanding, built like a LB with 4.4 (expected speed) making incredible catches, rather contested or in the open field to get an explosive YAC play. He can break tackles, he can MOSS guys, he can make this acceleration after the catch plays that get you out of your seat cheering GO GO GO GO! I believe his route running just needs a little bit more improvement, maybe continue to add some more to his route tree. The thought of Drake Maye tossing to Chris Bell on Sundays should excite you, Chris catches everything and makes big plays in all areas of the field. If we select Chris Bell Vrabel has his new AJ Brown, without having to trade away numerous assets or take on Browns contract, we settle for the next best thing... Which is what Chris Bell could be for the NFL the next best thing. Chris unfortunately suffered an ACL injury his final game, unfortunately preventing us from seeing him compete at the combine, or a pro day, but what he put on film there’s no doubt teams would consider taking him rather early day 2 or if there’s positive signs in his recovery I wouldn't be surprised if he’s still taken at the end of the first. (https://youtu.be/DeVeOia4akI?si=DQD-joRGt7IDGQEu) PLEASE NOTE: Bell would be much higher if he would not be entering the season with an injur, he would be ranked top 20s.
31 ELIJAH SARRATT WR INDIANA
6'2 209lbs
Mr. Reliable or his actual nickname… Waffle House he’s always open! As we’ve learned from the phenomenal season Indiana has assembled this year Sarratt has made quite the name for himself. Whatever you need from him he's got the QB's back. From short crossing routes to big explosive plays up field, watching him you know if the chemistry is there with the QB he's going to make the catch. Funny thing with every QB he's had (Rourke, Mendoza) he just proves he can have chemistry with anyone. Besides having great hands, he fights for yards when he's in the process of being tackled, he's great after the catch, and has a nose for the endzone. I don't know how fast he truly is; his speed doesn't necessarily pop on tape it appears more of an average speed 4.5-4.7s would be my best guess, but that doesn't bother me, he has game speed and can be elusive enough to shake off defenders get loose and come up for the big score. I like his playstyle a lot and can see him being a go to target for Drake. A guy that can get open, make a play for us rather in short yardage or taking it to the house. He’s very impressive in what he does on the field, and someone I can see McDaniels drawing up a ton of plays for in situations we need him most. (https://youtu.be/tv5-xcLXkL4?si=FIH7WRezXNf17Cs)
30 BLAKE MILLER RT CLEMSON
6’6 315lbs (reported arm length through numerous channels 35 inch arms)
Blake Miller is in best terms a safe experienced right tackle that brings leadership, and heart to play the position. A leader for the Clemson offense that unfortunately was a major disappointment this year affecting everyone with aspirations for the draft. Blake still held his own and put good stuff on tape. He has a solid amount of experience with his time there, and GMs or in our case Eliot wolf would see the best version of him in the 2024 season when reviewing his film. Theres going to be some they have Miller as a first round grade and others that view him somewhere in mid to late Day 2.. What I see from Miller is a lesser version of Will Campbell that plays right side, it felt like most of the 25 tape of miller just shows he’s serviceable and a lot of times lacked the drive intensity and heart that was more present a year ago which is a common theme for Clemsons players this year unfortunately. I think personality, work ethic and demeanor Blake is very similar to Will Campbell as a lunch pale hard hat blue collar let’s get to work and let’s protect our guys mindset. Here’s what I love, hand placement and first attack can kill a power rushers momentum, footwork especially off the jump great kick back allowing him to get set properly and set an anchor and or cut off speed rushers before they try to roll past him. He’s played so much football, years of experience, great football IQ, communication, athleticism, has played left and right tackle, plays fierce in the run game ready to bully guys yet in the pass game plays very strategic and knows the best way to take on edge rushers with his preparation leading into games. My dislikes I think he needs a better anchor, he plays too vertical and relies more on his upper body than his legs/whole body to keep himself set in place, he’s a much better pass blocker than run blocker, though he has the intensity for run blocking, I feel he often can often get shaken off an initial block allowing LBs to seperate from him and get to the RB before a big outside run can happen. Blake often tends to over extend against guys with better length or even power rushers, guys that use a lot of swim moves tend to be a kryptonite for him, something I hope he further works on and addresses before training camp. He’s someone I see in his rookie year just needing more time to learn and develop, and on the bright side we have Morgan Moses to help mentor and motivate him to get to where we will eventually need him to be, we won’t have to rush him to play and throw him to the fire, but instead allow him to work on his craft, develop and take in coaching to get him ready to come in at any moment. Personality wise Blake is a Vrabel guy and someone I could see Vrabel wanting to essentially redshirt him his rookie year and get the most out of him if his numbers called to fill in. As I’ve stated I think he’s very safe pick for us if that’s the direction we’d go that career direction for him, learn, earn, observe, and develop we could get the most out of him. 29 KYLE LOUIS LB PITT
5’11 220lbs,
I will not sugar coat this... I love everything about Kyle Louis game, even if the national media and draft analysts overlook him. OLne of my favorite prospects in the class, it feels like there's nothing he can't do. Upon learning he is considered one of if not THE BEST coverage LB in the class, I found myself entranced in everything Kyle’s shown on tape outside of his coverage game. He can set an edge, has excellent awareness before and during the play, a nose for the ball, constantly disruptive, and a non stop motor. As mentioned his pass coverage skills are outstanding for a LB, he can line up in the slot, and has zone/man coverage ability. He has great patience, ability to cleanly breakup a pass, and stay lockstep with the tight end or receiver he's covering. Louis a 2 time team captain for Pitt, teammates coaches fans rave about him and what he does for the school, and his leadership and personality fit everything Vrabel says he wants out of our players. To me Kyle Louis is the perfect LB to work besides Spillane for his versatility and help coverage in the middle of the field, I see sideline to sideline ability and can apply additional assistance in pass rush. If this class wasn't loaded with so many great linebackers, I think teams and draft experts would be talking about him consistently. If you like Lawson from Alabama mentioned earlier, you would love Kyle Louis. He's being slept on, he's this year's Craig Woodson but as a linebacker. (Not highly talked about but once you watch him... you see why he's taken as high as he was). Areas of concern is his size against the NFL level, he’s going to run into issues with lead blockers that tower over him on the run, and it may not be as easy to wreak havoc against pass protection amongst the best tackles in the league, yet he’s only one inch shorter and a few pounds less than Lawson who will probably be taken over him. I know deep down no one is probably viewing him as high as I am, but in terms of what Vrabel has said he looks for in his players, Leadership, IQ, toughness, intensity, and plays for the team Kyle Louis is a Vrabel guy all the way. Please see for yourself in Kyle Louis film and thank me later. (https://youtu.be/WYYNWXfBVf8?si=mi6PlLJNJcxSfxUu)
28 GABE JACAS EDGE ILLINOIS
6’3 275lbs
(Pronounced YA-KISS), Jacas doesn’t get the credit, attention or flowers that be should for the Illinois defense, as many guys have held or constantly increased their draft stock with help of their teams performance as well as their own individual performances, Jacas has done everything right, dominated his competition, and played at an NFL level. Not sure if it’s because of where he plays football at or just no matter what being overlooked, getting to know this man through research he’s the prototypical player Vrabel looks for. Leadership, intelligence, scheme versatility, can line up anywhere in the front 7 and make an impact, powerful with good speed, with knock back ability to send a tackle on skates getting him to shed off to bring the heat to a QB or stuffing the run. He’s an athletic freak, strong as hell, and has a relentless motor. I think Jacas hand work could use some improvement, he can be inconsistent in that area but with good coaching, our staff can help unlock this out of him. He’s a film junkie, he’s constantly prepared, a first one in, last one out kind of player, and he’s still young at 21 years old, but has great maturity and leadership he carries, it’s clear to me the best is yet to come and his areas of improvement in his technique will come in time. I think meeting Vrabel and possibly having a one on one with him learning the man he is, and getting to test against Vrabel and his chest pad would be enough to sell him even further Jacas has big potential and worth consideration of the 31st pick. 27 EMMANUEL PREGNON LG OREGON
6’5 318lbs (34 inch arms reported numerous channels)
The second best LG in the class that has the body build to comfortably replace Jared Wilson at left guard, but not only that provide much needed help in the pass and run game that started to lack in the position for us the back half of the season. Pregnon arguably the best and most consistent player on Oregon’s O Line, his size and athleticism can’t be missed on film. Showed outstanding ability in pass protection he’s powerful, great anchor especially against a power rush, hand placement, grip strength. For the run game his strength allows him to move guys with ease, ability to create lanes for his running backs, able to get to the second level on outside runs and counters helping clear a good path for his running backs to get the yardage they need for chunk plays or to take it to the house. What I love most is how he plays to the whistle the dude just keeps fighting non stop like he’s in the royal rumble, I really appreciate his effort and finish in his blocks. The areas of concern are twitchy speed edge guys that decide to attack the middle rather straight to him with LB help, or off stunts, final area to monitor is his footwork he can be a little off base at initial contact but usually corrects himself well enough to maintain an anchor, but with an experienced edge or DT against him they may be able to take advantage off first contact leading to separation and shake off him to get to the QB It’s not all over his film but a way I can see it being a weakness. There’s a lot to like about Pregnon, if we can’t address left guard in free agency and miss out on the next left guard I talk to later in this list, he is worthy of consideration at 31. 26 TJ PARKER EDGE CLEMSON
6'3 265lbs
2024 year was an impressive season from TJ he put the nation on notice and exploded onto the scene and showed flashes of what could be one of the elite Edge rushers in the class. Fast forward to now it’s been crickets, there hasn’t been much improvement/development in his game and his production isn’t up to expectations. That isn’t to say Parker isn’t a first round talent but you were hoping to see him add onto and expand his arsenal before heading into the draft. When he’s on a heater like last year, he can be nasty and aggressive, plays with high iq and violent. He can shred blocks and handles the run really well, can pursue a ball carrier and make an impact play. Really knows how to make QBs uncomfortable and can crash a pocket inside and out. What he’s shown this season is an inconsistent motor and feels like he’s taking plays off, granted Clemson NOT having the season anyone expected, and it was a very disappointing year for everyone involved. I do think he plays smart has a great technique and teams will have to revert back to his tape a year ago to see what he can be an intense technician at edge, and can be a force in the right system preferably a 4-3 defense. Thankfully with having Barmore, and Williams crashing the interior this could be a great landing spot for Parker to continue to develop his game, lock in and reach the ceiling that appeared to be an elite top 10 talent heading into this season, and if he’s anything like he showed a year ago he can absolutely be the impact player we need at edge. 25 CHRIS BRAZZELL WR TENNESSEE
6'5 200lbs
Size and speed something Tennessee players have been known for. Something is just different about this notion about Tennessee receivers being one dimensional with Brazzel, if you’re like me and aren’t just staring at a players helmet thinking they play exactly like the last player to come from whatever collge they play for, you’ll see a guy who can be a true X that can give defenses problems. Excellent hands, phenomenal free movement for someone his size, a great separator using misdirections, stutter steps, and head nods to fake out corners, and draw space to get open, he has a versatile route tree, and shows elite ball tracking ability. He can be a little too handsy, and aggressive against tight coverage that potentially can draw OPI. He does have a thinner frame that physical corners can potentially disrupt, and won’t really help in his run blocking. That being said for a 6’5 receiver with the speed he possesses, skills he showcases can be a big body with wheels that can utilize his huge catch radius to haul in passes from Drake anywhere on the field, his ball tracking would help us on Drakes deep shots down the field for the big play. 24 DYLAN THIENEMAN S OREGON
6' 205lbs
Previously at Purdue where he made a name for himself, has made quite the impact at Oregon helping solidify his draft stock as one of the top safeties in the class. He’s a first in the building last one to leave player. A film junkie. Prides himself on being the most prepared week in and week out not only for himself but to the benefit of his teammates knowing exactly what offenses are going to do. Displays leadership everywhere he’s been including in his new home at Oregon where his teammates are constantly praising him. His intangibles are exactly what we want out of our players and his actual play on the field doubles down the fact he’s going to be a phenomenal asset to a safety room. Violent tackler, excellent ball tracking ability in coverage, elite athleticism, plays multiple roles for the defense. The kid can do it all. He does have overconfidence in his instincts and can be tricked in some play action situations, he can be too aggressive against the run and misplacing himself instead of having patience to see the run play out. His leadership he displays to his teammates, his preparedness week in week out, his play on the field showcases the caliber player he truly is. I think he’d be an amazing fit for us and someone our coaching staff can constantly rely on for our secondary. (https://youtu.be/agGR-wDNzVY?si=Au-3sV9m_h_wuMjE)
23 KC CONCEPCION WR TEXAS A&M
5’11 190lbs
I was honestly hesitant to include KC on this list being the last player officially added to this. The reason for my hesitance is the body similarities of what we currently have in our receiver room, we even last year drafted Kyle Williams who didn’t get to see the field as much as we hoped but came up big in games like the ravens game I got to attend. I have rewatched KC with fresh eyes and less bias of what I was initially looking for in a receiver and I will say he is a special talent. His time before A&M was spent at North Carolina State, where he was used more as a gadget style receiver run packages, screens, slot role, with expectations that didn’t get met of him taking a big leap 2 years ago. He transfers to Texas A&M and immediately took the college world by storm breaking out big this year. Explosive route runner, amazing athlete, punt returner, a playmaker. He has had a fair share of drops especially in tight coverage, in traffic, or taking contact, he also is a little too quick of tempo in his routes. Outside of his size being similar to what we have here’s what separates him from our current receivers, his ability after the catch is out of this world with great vision of the field around him, dancing around open field juking guys out of place, breaking tackles. Jump ball is really impressive able to high point the ball with a surprisingly good catch radius from any and all angles. He makes circus level catches. His routes are clean, and has elite speed to hit deep routes or burn defenders after the catch, and even showcases his wheels in the return game having a few TDs from a mix of speed and vision. For his size he’s very physical fights off defenders in his routes, I’d like him to show that same physicality in the run blocking game but that’s possibly something we could coach him up to do. As I’ve mentioned I worry it’s redundant to take another guy with his build, but his size and talents are things Josh McDaniels has maximized in years past, I worried selecting him would just defeat the purpose of taking Kyle Williams last year in the 3rd, but this could also be a chance to have 2 burners, 2 great athletes sharing the field and taking the tops off defenses with their route trees and deep ball capabilities, only helping Drake further in his love of chunking it deep. A thing I found interesting about KC was in an interview with Shannon Sharpe on his podcast Nightcap, KC confirmed he does have a speech impediment, he often stuffers and has trouble speaking publicly, but hopes to utilize his platform to inspire children going through a similar condition to not let it define you or stray you away from what you want to do. KC upon arriving to Texas A&M also was constantly praising and promoting his QB Marcel Reed who was labeled as not much of a thrower but was complimentary of him in the preseason and throughout the season constantly motivating him and lifting his spirits and working together to get the most out of eachothers skill sets, showcasing his leadership. I think KC Concepcion is an elite playmaker and a guy that in the right offense that can maximize his talents could absolutely take over the league like he did college football this season. He could be drafted back half of the first, or even in the top 15 to a team that loves and appreciates his talents, I’m glad I gave him the rewatch before the sites release and happy to have him on my big board as a possibility for us. 22 ANTHONY HILL JR LB TEXAS
6'3 238lbs
If you want versatility a game wrecker and an impact linebacker on your defense, Anthony Hill is your guy. He is a force on the field he plays smart, always physical, and leaves it all out there each game. A pure wrecking ball in the run game, active and disruptive in the pass game, shows great awareness and ball tracking ability. He easily creates turnovers from disguising in coverage dropping out of a pass rush to get interceptions or forcing fumbles out with his intense hits. He processes the field so well and can sniff out play action, finds lanes to help stuff the run, and utilizes patience on a late blitz or following the QBs eyes to track in coverage. In pass rush he has a good arsenal of movements to shred blockers mixing his speed and power to be a true force against interior lineman. There’s a lot to love in terms of his playstyle that feels like it can be a great addition to our defense, a long term successor to Spilane, and leader for our defense for years to come. 21 ROMELLO HEIGHT EDGE TEXAS TECH
6'3 240lbs
Height has been having a career year after transferring to Texas Tech from Georgia Tech along with his new teammate David Bailey (Stanford). The 2 have brought constant fear to opposing offenses especially in the pass rush. Height specializes in getting to the QB a “pass rush savant” some have called him. Height has an incredible bend, uses a variety of moves (swipe, spin, rip, pulls) while working against tackles, can process an offense quickly, has good speed and accelerates through contact to shake off blocks, has a constant motor, and even drops into coverage as well! More of a speed rusher than a power rusher. He does struggle against the run struggling to make tackles against shiftier RBs, some see him as smaller because of his weight, and he can appear a little too all over the place in his techniques when he’s being outmatched against a tackle like he’s doing too much to move away trying different techniques instead of just sticking with it and letting the right moment strike to hit his move set. I like a lot of what Height brings as a speed pass rusher, he can continue to bulk up to compete with NFL sized tackles, and with good coaching and the leadership on the Dline he could develop really nicely for us in time to be more than just a pass rusher, but a great all-around player for us. 20 MANSOOR DELANE CB LSU
6' 190lbs
Delane was insanely impressive at Virginia tech as someone we hoped would declare last year, decided to return to school but did so somewhere else that can help skyrocket his draft stock in LSU. He’s having a great year and is only confirming what everyone saw in him at his time in VT but now against some of the best competition in college football. He’s shown he can play in multiple systems going from zone coverage (VT) to man (LSU) has the ability to line up anywhere on the field including at safety. He’s got outstanding short area quickness, pre snap awareness, and can quickly diagnose a play sniffing out runs and screens, can process route combinations a receiver tries to do to shake him off in coverage, he sticks with his receivers all over the field, and can change direction almost immediately. He’s not the fastest guy long distance, he’s at times too aggressive and his eagerness to get a receiver off time of his route or in jump ball situations can potentially lead to penalties, taller receivers have given him some trouble in contested catch situations, and burners may at times best him in deep ball situations. To me despite his thinner frame he's displayed versatility at the position and proven to be successful in different schemes. We've obviously seen struggles in our pass coverage throughout this season with Carlton Davis, though he may still be battling through injuries it's begged the question is Davis a long-term answer opposite Gonzales despite his contract? If the team views the corner position as an area to target rather for depth or to upgrade from Davis performance if he continues to have blown assignments or unnecessary penalties, Delane would be a top option to consider. 19 CASHIUS HOWELL EDGE TEXAS A&M
6'2 248lbs
Howell took the nation by storm this season with his incredible pass rush ability. He was an absolute force for A&M and kept QBs on their toes all season. He’s a damn good player with a lot to love in his game, from scheme versatility to his arsenal of strikes and move set to shred blockers, his high football IQ. He has a great first step, followed by his hand-fighting that keeps tackles away from his chest, so he can then utilize spins, counters, or his elite bend that shows off his balance and footwork that allow him to wrap past the tackle and make a B line for the QB. He’s rarely fooled in misdirections and can sniff out RPO plays. The knock on him is his length begs the question of how he can handle NFL tackles and get separation from better competition, I personally feel he can overcome length concerns with his play style, speed, and overall technique. I think teams will love what Howell brings to the table, I can easily see him being drafted in the teens, but the off chance his length is a big enough concern we’d absolutely benefit having his talent on the edge and help us generate more pass rush. (https://youtu.be/C6-HH4ceQcM?si=5WnCMKl-4fodWL9J)
18 KENYON SADIQ TE OREGON
6'3 245lbs
Is a special player and hands down the best TE in the class. There’s a lot to like about Sadiq and how much he puts into his craft. He’s got excellent hands, elite route running, size and speed. He’s gained 20 pounds in 2 seasons to be able to fight for yards, break away from tackles, and help in the run blocking game. Sadiq has a great football IQ has got excellent field awareness to find open gaps in zone coverage and can use his route tree and hesitation/stutter step moves to break off man coverage to get open. He’s clutch when it matters as seen as his performance in the big 10 championship. Can make insane plays catching the ball, and what he does after the catch. He’s an exciting watch, a good locker room leader, a film junkie, and immensely talented. He’s not the best run blocker but he’s serviceable and has struggled against press coverage getting him off of his route early from larger defenders and is viewed as undersized. Sadiq is unique in his approach to how he plays the position, he’s someone that Drake can hit against any type of coverage, and with the team needing to eventually look to the future at TE, why not consider what he can do to elevate drakes game and be one of his new reliable targets opposite of Henry while we have him. I really enjoy his game and feel the coaches and the team would love Sadiq if he fell to us. (https://youtu.be/D_p2zmJp8j4?si=9p0mV7kcLUSbCBEb)
17 OLAIVAVEGA IOANE LG PENN STATE
6'4 330lbs (estimated 33 inch arms)
Do you like Pancakes? He likes to serve them to the opposing defense. The viral clip of him knocking a UCLA defender into the dirt and hitting him with the double tap as he tries to get up, though was so sick to see, it's not what just makes him special. A great run blocker an even better pass blocker. Moves bodies off the ball to create run lanes, rarely generates penalties, he handles speed rushers really well eliminating them from the play before they can bring pressure to the pocket. Which would benefit Will Campbell as speed rushers can on some occasions get the best of him. Having Ioane beside him obviously solidifies the left side of our line, allows Wilson to return to his expected position in center, but in my opinion would give Drake all kinds of time back there not having to worry about his blindside. As much as it potentially is a need unfortunately Guard is a position that doesn't get the love and respect it deserves when it comes to draft value, or else I'd have him ranked higher... but on the positive if other needs are addressed in free agency and we enter the draft with LG being our primary need needed to be addressed, Ioane would be an awesome addition for us and someone Drake would be thanking Wolf, Vrabel and the rest of the front office for in the long term. 16 CJ ALLEN LB GEORGIA
6'1 235lbs
Last year's draft there was a lot of belief we were really interested in Jalon Walker who was drafted by the falcons for his leadership, and how he played for the Georgia Bulldogs. I do believe there is some truth to that interest but maybe that can open the door for CJ Allen who took over what Walker left behind. Though Walker did lineup more on the edge than Allen does, CJ is a complete force at LB and possesses the same leadership qualities and play intensity, and IQ Walker did in his time there. Allen has excellent tackling techniques, speed, strength. and a football IQ you can see on tape. He’s constantly prepared communicating with his teammates pre snap making the necessary adjustments as he’s diagnosing a play before it happens. He has excellent pursuit against the run, and his excellent tackling abilities doesn’t make it easier for ball carriers to progress the ball in his path. Can shed blocks with his good hand techniques use his patience to wait for the open lane or gaps to form to start rushing up the middle and can help collapse the pocket using solid bend on the edge to get to the passer with ease. He moves well in coverage; it’s not his strongest area but in zone coverage Allen doesn’t get to trigger happy trying to read a QBs eyes but waits till the ball is out of his hand to move in for the disruptive tackle or pass breakup. He can be a little too aggressive at times he’s too eager to make the big hit that shiftier RBs can utilize hesitations to throw him off, he’s also too focused on running backs in play-action that he’s usually too late to transition his open lane to the QB while the QB is already rolling out of the pocket or about o throw it. Allen brings a lot of the intangibles Vrabel was rumored to have loved about Walker, they’re different players but he’s taken over the role and is one of the best players on the Georgia bulldogs, his football IQ, leadership, intense playstyle and ability, is someone that can continue to strengthen our defense and easily pair with another hard hitting leader in Robert Spillane. 15 JERMOD MCCOY CB TENNESSEE
6' 193lbs
Unfortunately we aren't able to see McCoy build off his already impressive college career as one of the best corners in all of college football due to an ACL tear suffered working out this offseason. He is a lockdown outside corner with scheme versatility in man and zone, what he displayed a year ago was worthy of top 10 consideration. He’s able to line up and take on a team’s best receiver at ease, read the QBs eyes and be a player a tentative QB would avoid his direction. Excellent footwork, solid speed faster on field, shows great route recognition, fights on every contested catch situation, and is a master in disguised coverage. McCoy also has returning ability with good vision on his punt returns fighting for yardage and shows off his true speed in open field on punt returns. Someone with a ton of great aspects to his game we need to watch for the future and hope our opponents in the east pass up on him. Excellent player ready to bounce back from his injury once he hits the league. (https://youtu.be/9ifvFFq1US0?si=6zLeLPyh4lxc0QSP)
14 R MASON THOMAS EDGE OKLAHOMA
6'2 249lbs
Thomas kicked the door down the last 2 seasons to tell everyone remember my name. He’s been an absolute force for Oklahoma as their best defensive player and is one of the best edge prospects in this upcoming draft class. A proven 3 down player affective against the run and pass, he utilizes his high motor, his iq and his speed and strength to give problems to anyone in his path. He has excellent technique swinging away from contact from tackles swiping away before they can lock him in, utilizes his bend to help him shed and burst into directly going for the QB. He has a ton of versatility in how he attacks and isn’t easy for tackles to prepare for because he’s so diverse in his approach each game against different blocking schemes. He has really solid pursuit for RBs, and will track and hunt them out to get the stop. Thomas has had some injury history in his ankle affecting him 2 seasons in a row just something to monitor, he’s viewed undersized for the nfl level, patient offensive tackles give him the most trouble but he still fights through to try and make the play. Theres a lot to love about this guys intensity and versatility he brings in each week, he’s someone the QB looks for before every snap, and would be an excellent addition to our Dline as he continues to show his size limitations won’t stop him from doing what he does best and wreck havoc in the backfield. If he bulks up a bit more and continues to lock in on what makes him special he’s someone that can fall right in our laps in the later part of the draft and be one of the most dominant players for our defense. In terms of edge rushers that will probably available where we’re drafting he would be the favorite for our defensive approach, skillset, and best available player if a team wouldn’t take him higher. 13 MAKAI LEMON WR USC
5'11 195lbs
Many will have Lemon much higher and deservingly so, he is a phenomenal talent and someone that is explosive in every sense of the word. I personally feel his game is just a better, tighter consistent version of what we just drafted in Kyle Williams. Not that he would even be there for us in the first place, but I feel a redundancy taking him and guys like KC Concepcion who play very similar and have the same size as Kyle Williams, where I’d rather see us take different body types and have versatility in the pass game, that’s just me. Enough of why I’m off on him, here’s why he’s an excellent prospect. The Speed… lighting, catch ability.. outstanding, route tree.. excellent. He’s a burner, a fighter in contested catch situations, reliable for QBs, and can make a big play or flip a drive on its head in an instant. Lemon will be someone we will have to game-plan for, a Tuesday player to prepare for and be ready to have your best follow him, double him or whatever is needed so the ball isn’t going his way. He’s going to be in the top 12 without question, but a player like him if magically fell wouldn’t be my first choice out of what I’m looking for, but if magically he fell for some sort of controversy (the only reason he’d fall) it’d be awesome to have a speedy duo of Kyle Williams and Lemon for Drake in the deep game… in terms of us getting him… keep dreaming. 12 DENZEL BOSTON WR WASHINGTON
6'4 209lbs
The X receiver we've been looking for. The size, the physicality, the reliable catches, big play moments. He’s more than just a contested catch guy, he has a solid route tree, excellent catch radius, great hands, good to average after the catch speed for someone his size and can fight for extra yards when being brought down. He’s been the go to guy for 2 different QBs at Washington, he was someone numerous teams hoped would hit the transfer portal after their coach left for Alabama 2 years ago, yet he stayed loyal to Washington and became a team leader and their most reliable player in the pass game. I hate doing comparisons but for those who love and hoped we’d rather sign Mike Evans, or wanted us draft Tet McMilan last year, he’s got a lot of similar aspects of their game but he’s just a tad off in their production entering the draft compared to them. My areas of concern is chest catches it’s not the best thing to see a receiver with the catch radius he has rely on catching with his chest on plays. Some narratives I want to dispel… “Washington receivers aren’t good… we drafted Polk look what happened… and what’s Rome Odunze done since being taken top 10 last year” what you’re doing is helmet scouting, he is bigger than Polk bigger than Odunze, he wasn’t competing for targets… he was the best target on their offense. “A contested catch guy… Nkeal Harry much” he’s not NKeal Harry, he’s not a one trick pony, he’s so much more than that, not only does he have size on him, he’s so versatile in his play style, from screens to slants, to deep shots, in and outs crossers, he’s so much more well versed than Harry ever was. I love Boston for us as an X with versatility in his game, size, reliable in big moments, a redzone machine. Is he the best receiver in this class probably not, he has been mocked anywhere between 12-28 so there is a reality we could be able to get our long term solution for those like me wishing for Drakes X. Boston is someone I think can be what Mack Hollins has been for Drake Maye this season but on a whole nother level. For marketing aspects of the team…. The jerseys of a New England Patriot player named Boston would be a hot seller, and someone fans would immediately love. He is my favorite receiver in this class, someone I’ve enjoyed watching the last 2 years when I first saw him have his break out game and someone I think the fans will love, the coaching staff will appreciate his work ethic, toughness, desire to be better and his dedication to the team. If Boston is there for us, we gotta ship him off to… Boston and make this his home. (https://youtu.be/_6pehvgmZsw?si=SCXJ049j0knBuNTP)
11 JEREMIYAH LOVE RB NOTRE DAME
6' 214lbs
The best RB in this class and it’s not even close. There were many Patriots fans watching and following the 2025 draft class hoping we'd look to take Ashton Jeanty claiming he's a generational talent, while forgetting or ignoring the importance of what our biggest need was in Left Tackle, though it's way too early to say anything about Jeanty and his performance with the Raiders (which to me is more of a Raider issue than on him) We made the right choice in Will Campbell to keep Drake Maye protected but also to help dominate in the run game. Fast Foward a year later what do you know... it's another "generational talent" (I hate this term) in Jeremiyah Love. There isn't anything this man can't do. Jeremiah utilizes speed and power on every run, he can immediately change the trajectory of a game with his nose for the endzone, and versatile skillset to shed tacklers, maintaining contact balance and transitions that with breakaway speed and acceleration to get the crowd on their feet taking it to the house. He has solid ball carrier vision, patience in the backfield waiting for lanes to open, and is also an excellent pass catcher, a true workhorse 3 down back. Love isn't the best in pass protection, and isn't a gifted route runner, but it's not what you're selecting Love for. It's what he does when you hand him the football that warrants his selection. He is a gifted athlete, and a true competitor. An inspiring thing about Jeremiyah Love was shared recently by him and his family on a segment for College Gameday, growing up Jeremiyah wasn't very social, he was very particular about organization of things around him, he only felt comfort in certain and exact clothing, expressed he didn't feel emotion and would grow frustrated if things weren't how he liked them as a child. Though he wasn't social he loved being on the football field and competing his dad claiming the first time he touched a ball in a pop warner game he ran it for 70 yards. Eventually his parents wanted to see if there was anything cognitive about Jeremiyah going on that would explain his behaviors, taking him to his pediatrician they informed he could be on the spectrum. The family decided not to pursue further in a diagnosis after encouragement from the doctor saying, "let him be him, encourage him, let him change the world". His family decided to refuse to label him and wouldn't let this define him but allow it to be a superpower for him to not only be a gifted person but a gifted athlete. His story is inspiring to not let something define you but carry it with you to show others nothing can stop you from becoming what you want to be. In terms of being a Patriot it's very unlikely we'd be in position to draft Love, but in years past RB's haven't gotten the respect they deserve in how teams value them come draft night. We have seen issues with Rhamondre Stevenson's fumbling, and though when he's great he can be great but costly turnovers pileup, and eventually when will the coaching say enough is enough. We also have TreVeyon Henderson who showed in Ohio State how great he can be having someone sharing the backfield with him playing a more power style run to allow him to change the pace with his speed and versatility in the pass game. The combination of Love and Henderson with Drake Maye's ability to run can be dominant in the run game and adding another deadly element to our offense besides Drake's ability to move the ball up the field. We can only dream of what that backfield could be for us and can only hope teams may focus on other glaring needs before considering taking Love to allow us the chance to move up and select him. 10 CARNELL TATE WR OHIO STATE
6'3 195lbs
Tate has the height teams clamor for in an x receiver, but has a thinner frame, and lacks the speed a desired number one would have (running at a reported 4.6/4.7 40 times). What he does do on the field displays he's more than capable of handling the boundary and is having impressive performances weekly, even with a soon to be top 3 prospect in next year's draft class in Jeremiah Smith playing opposite of him. We've seen time and time again with Ohio State receivers that desired traits lacking doesn't prevent them from success in the NFL, and Tate will soon be added to that list. He's phenomenal in the deep game and displays excellent ball tracking ability. Tate has technical and well-trained hands to make catches away from his body. Excellent blocking ability to assist receivers or running backs to create a lane to take it to the house. Pro level route running ability and isn't fazed by any coverage rather man being able to shake off coverage on the route, or in zone constantly being able to find soft spots in zone to sit down in to make the play. My favorite aspect of his game is his ball tracking and body control to haul in off target passes which to me would help any young QB including Drake who has improved his accuracy this season still has some throws that are just a little further out of reach for some receivers. A lot to like about what Tate brings to the field as a receiver; there is going to be some concerns over his speed and maintaining that against some corners who can stick with him at the pro level, and some teams will probably hope he can pack on some additional mass to handle taller corners in contested catches, or big body safeties ready to knock him out of the play on his routes. Tate's someone you can tell will be added to the long list of dynamic playmaking receivers coming out of Ohio State. (https://youtu.be/xXHoz1rvFRw?si=k6HwL079KcrBSQ5p)
9 SONNY STYLES LB OHIO STATE
6'5 243lbs
A former safety converted linebacker Styles plays linebacker with outstanding versatility. His ability to not only cover the field thanks to his days as a safety, but his size and athleticism allow him to display his dominance against the run game and against the short to intermediate areas of passing lanes and has great pass rush ability. Styles football IQ is outstanding; he works to be one of if not the most prepared player on the Ohio State defense, displaying it with his pre snap awareness, play recognition, and communication to his teammates preparing them for what to expect on the play. Styles a freak athlete with size, speed, strength, make him a problem for any team to prepare for going into a game. His ability to work the offensive line against pass and run protection is exceptional, he has great hand techniques against the line, violent hands, swim moves, and great bend when working the edge. He's someone we can plug in anywhere, a guy with potential to be a leader for our defense for years to come. Vrabel would not only love the caliber player he is, not only his intangibles, but his community work as well helping at risk and homeless youth with the Huckleberry House foundation, we know how much Vrabel values players doing community work. I firmly believe if Styles is in a range to trade up He's absolutely in consideration and on their big board, a leader with so much versatility and proven production in numerous areas of the field. 8 JORDYN TYSON WR ARIZONA ST
6'2 200lbs
Without a doubt Tyson is just further and further proving he’s the best receiver in this class. After impressing everyone last season leading to and in the college football playoffs he’s carried that into this season showing even further improvement to his game. An excellent route runner, outstanding hands, physical, speedy, and just feels like the complete package at this time compared to everyone else. He can play inside and out, make contested catches, as well as circus level catches that can get you to jump out of your seat. He displays excellent ball tracking ability, fluid hips great change of direction, and has solid separation ability. He also can run block and has learned so from one of the best run blocking receivers I’ve seen growing up from his WR coach former Steelers great Hines Ward. Tyson has also displayed the ability to make clutch plays when the game is on the line or in must score drives, time and time again Tyson has shown he can be trusted with the fate of the game if the ball is headed his way. Tyson’s has some medical issues with his knee in 2022 and collarbone in 2024, and the one area of his game that needs improvement is against press man coverage and has been thrown off his route and disrupted his momentum numerous times, he is aware of it and looks to continue to improve that aspect of his game. Tyson is being considered currently in the top 10 and I’ve seen even top 5 consideration. He’s not someone we’d land but someone to keep in mind of incase the jets or dolphins are thinking about calling his name on draft night. (https://youtu.be/OMoPpRnH2s8?si=1OylnhBr2NMy4Gd5)
7 KELDRIC FAULK EDGE AUBURN
6'6 285lbs
Faulk is my personal favorite edge in this class because of how he plays and how he utilizes his size but has the ability to play like some of the DE/Edge guys with standard 6’2-6-4 height. You can line up Faulk anywhere on the Dline as he’s so disruptive against everyone in his path. His run defense is elite and his pass rush ability is very impressive for his size, he isn’t the fastest prospect but he plays so violent and with such intensity that he can crash a pocket in the right matchup and get to more pocket reliant QBs with ease. He has excellent technique, great hand placement and arsenal of moves to shred through the Oline and disrupt a play, he can redirect very well for someone with his size and adjust his positioning to pursue the ball carrier in the backfield. I have seen conflicting areas of where he’s mocked he’s rather a top 12 player or he’s still there at the end of the first round ready to make a home on a contending team. The belief is that Vrabel prefers guys in that 6’2/6’3 range at edge however this defense could easily benefit having a guy who possesses the physical traits Faulk poses as well as benefit from his actual skillsets continuing to refine his passing game to shred blockers bull rush and increase his play speed when needed. I know with Faulks work ethic praised by coaches and teammates he has the desire and motivations to be the best he can be and is constantly working on his game. He could be viewed as a Keion White type, but Faulk is well more experienced and polished compared to how raw Keion White was entering the league. This could QBs Vrabel's guy, his version of what I’m sure he hoped to get out of Keion and allow Faulk to be molded to the play style he’s seeking at the edge position with versatility to line up on the inside. 6 FRANCIS MAUIGOA RT MIAMI
6'6 315lbs (33 1/2 verified arm length)
Mauigoa is a force on the right side of the line. He’s the type of body that doesn’t make it an easy day at the office for anyone lined up at edge having to attempt to get through him. He’s physical using all of his 6’6 315 to put guys in the dirt. Not only does he have incredible size he’s an incredible athlete having game tape reflecting a 20mph run to the second level on a lead block not only once but seen numerous times doing so. He mirrors well against defenders, has violent hands that disrupt a defenders attack, he has controlled aggression can knock you in the dirt on run plays or keep pushing you out of the play to extend time for the QB on passing downs, natural knee bender and doesn’t solely rely on his upper body to secure a block, has a good anchor and stays in place locking the edge rusher down. Mauigoa has a ton of experience and has shown significant growth the last few years at his time in Miami. In terms of Fano or Mauigoa debate you can’t go wrong with either but it’s more of what’s your flavor of approach at the position. Do you want a physically dominant athletic freak who constantly looks like a force you’d choose Mauigoa or do you want someone who’s physical, athletic, but very strategic in their approach at the position you’d choose Fano. There’s some talk about moving him inside… there’s 0 reason or indication to me that he needs to kick inside. He’s a force on the outside he’s got years of experience playing right tackle and doing so at a high level on a consistent basis and has continued to improve each year, and got to display his skills in the national championship. He’s a Right tackle…. Who we probably don’t have a chance to get because he will be selected in the top 12-15 range. If there’s any chance we were to trade up and take him it’d would be worth it but not likely. (https://youtu.be/EmRrCMVEKIo?si=8fxvfronHj5eOAH7)
5 DAVID BAILEY EDGE TEXAS TECH
6'3 250lbs
Joining Texas tech after his phenomenal performance at Stanford alongside another great pass rusher in Romello Height. The 2 have formed the best pass rushing duo in college football. Bailey in my opinion is one of the best in the class at what he does and has shown no matter what scheme he's in rather 4-3 or 3-4 he can wreck shop on a weekly basis. Bailey was someone I was really hoping would declare last year and could be a mid to late day 2 or possibly early day 3 edge we can get. Well, his decision to return another season and join this outstanding Texas Tech defensive line has helped solidify he is absolutely a first round talent. There's a lot to love about David Bailey, he is an absolute artist in his pass rush technique from his speed to power, and his attack utilizing his violent hands to club, rip, swipe, and swim past lineman as well as his sick bend moves, displaying incredible ankle flexibility that helps him transition from passing the side of a tackle to immediately shooting out of a cannon going after the QB. His first step quickness is top notch and can disrupts plays and crash a pocket before the QB even has time to see his first read or before a ball is handed off. Plays with an unlimited motor and gives his all on every play, he doesn't shut off until the whistle, his pursuit chasing down QB's running for their life in his presence after he's kicked the door down of the pocket is like a scene from the waterboy if Bobby was a 4-star recruit with outstanding technique. Bailey also is able to drop back into coverage to track and lock in on short passes to running backs or tight ends. David made Bruce Feldman's freak list for the 2025 season for benching 405lbs squatting 550lbs, and on the field clocking 22.16mph in pursuit of a QB for a sack in the backfield. Bailey as a pass rusher is one of the best you can ask for, in the run game he has made some improvements compared to his time in Stanford but has tendencies to over pursue in cutbacks and misdirection plays. David Bailey fits the mold of what Vrabel has tended to look for in his edge rushers in the past, his personality, playstyle, and work ethic is everything we look for in our players and Bailey could be the perfect addition to this defensive front and a perfect Patriot player. 4 ARVELL REESE EDGE/LB OHIO STATE
6'4 243lbs
Reese has become a star this season and I'm going out on a limb by saying this I wouldn't be shocked if a team views him as the number one prospect in this draft and is selected as such. Reese a monster a game wrecker a drive killer. Plays with a high motor intense hitter, great pursuit, yet he’s still raw still young and you see the potential in his game that even things that look a little out of place he quickly puts together and adjusts himself mid play to get involved in pursuit of QBs / RBS. Going from primarily LB to playing more on the edge similar to Jalon Walker did for Georgia last season if he makes edge his full time position and continues to develop his game perfecting it and continuing to benefit from each rep he gets he will quickly develop playing on the Dline with flexibility to cover at LB when needed. There’s no chance we get him as I mentioned I can see him being taken overall but it’s fun to dream of what it could be having a guy like Reese on our defense helping perfect his game to be one of the best defensive players in the league, let’s hope our opponents in the AFC EAST don’t get the luxury of landing Reese on draft night. 3 SPENCER FANO RT UTAH
6'6 302lbs (estimated arm length 33 inches)
In my opinion the best tackle in the class is Spencer Fano. Maybe I just have an affinity to short arm tackles or something because he profiles almost identically to Will Campbell and I love what I'm seeing from Fano on this Utah team. Athletic, intelligent, and aggressive. His footwork is elite, his hand placement is very strategic and refined and plays with patience in the pass game but is also a phenomenal run blocker. He’s my type of tackle as much as physical maulers pancaking guys to the turf is sexy, it’s the technique that I’m drawn to. He’s got great recover ability when initially beaten and can continue to adjust and maintain his anchor and base in the block. He communicates well across the line, adjusting protection assignments. He processes the defense well and can sniff out a stunt before it happens so him and the guard beside him are prepared to make the adjustment as it comes. His footwork is similar to Will Campbell and is like watching a work of art how crisp and clean the kick slides are. Without a doubt Fano is the best run blocking tackle in this class. Plays with intensity but within that intensity can extend and reach the second level quickly and take guys out of plays to maintain solid run blocking. Great overall technique and hand placement that isn’t always perfect placement but with clean up and good coaching should adapt well to the NFL. He’s definitely not going to be in our range but in the off chance we look to move up or teams for some reason have issues with arm length if it comes out to not be up to their standards, I have no doubt in my mind watching Fano he is a Right Tackle and will dominate and shut guys out on a weekly basis. 2 REUBEN BAIN JR EDGE MIAMI
6'3 275lbs
Arguably the best edge rusher in the class. This dude absolutely dominated and it’ll be fun to see how much of a stink if any Bain gets for his arm length, he’s a damn good fierce competitor. After missing some of last season with a calf injury that he opted to play through, he entered this season fully healthy and ready to make up for the results of last season by completely dominating everyone in his path. Bain Jr plays relentless utilizing a powerful bullrush, swim move and his elite bend for someone his size, he gives tackles nightmares what he can do on the outside. His first step quickness with his skillset has him ready to meet the QB as they finish their final drop step. He's instinctive and can sniff out play action as it's happening or quickly process a run play and blocking assignments to crash open lanes and stuff the run. He's scheme versatile and can play anywhere on the line. In terms of Patriots he's similar to Keion White in build, but actually polished, prepared and doesn't require development. The dude is a monster and someone we should hope the jets and dolphins miss out on, during draft night. (https://youtu.be/2yDLOxm5MkU?si=J2OhMAgTRnPjEA9Y)
1 CALEB DOWNS S OHIO STATE
6' 205lbs
I believe Caleb Downs is the best player in the draft. In terms of DBs he could possibly play anywhere he wanted or wherever is asked of him. His game is so refined so crisp and just does everything right. He's the best safety prospect since Kyle Hamilton and for what it's worth should have also been taken higher than he actually went in the draft. My hope for us (but not for Caleb's sake) is that the 24-year trend of elite safeties being disrespected and not being taken in the top 10 in the draft (despite their obvious immense talent) continues. There's a possibility teams address more pressing needs; Safety is often overlooked and if that happens and he falls just in range for us to trade up to have one of the best safety prospects in years join our defense, we should take the shot. Downs transferred to Ohio State after being the first freshman in Alabama history to lead the team in tackling. Since joining Ohio State, he instantly became a leader and one of if not the best player on their stacked defense, his positional versatility allows him to play anywhere in the secondary and in different schemes rather man or zone, nickel, deep or even box and is a player QBs have to monitor in pre snap every down. Downs like his brother Josh Downs WR of the colts, has elite speed and explosiveness. He has impeccable football IQ can diagnose a play almost instantly. He's an elite tackler with excellent finish and one of the lowest missed tackle rates of all defensive players. A hard hitter in coverage and fearless against the run against power backs. Handles coverage like an elite corner displays fluid movement, and can stay lock step with tight ends, RBs and taller receivers. A cherry on top Caleb is also a great punt returner as well. The guy is the perfect prospect in terms of leadership, positional versatility, playmaking, intelligence. If he's anywhere close to our range Caleb Downs is a can't miss prospect and immediately betters any defense he's on. (https://youtu.be/K0Pzn7YEbMw?si=JL96cx8MLXfa844v )
